WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This
three-day, hands-on workshop is designed for criminal investigators, crime scene technicians, medical examiners, forensic
laboratory analysts, prosecutors, blood-spatter interpretation specialists and all cold-case investigators.
At the
completion of the three-day workhop, the attendee will be able to:
Demonstrate the proper application of presumptive
blood tests.
Discuss the mechanisms of chemical reactions that allow the presumptive blood tests to be of value in
forensic investigations.
Describe how to properly photograph luminol reactions.
State the proper methods of
collection, preservation and submission of biological evidence to a crime laboratory.
Identify the capabilities and
limitations of a forensic laboratory with emphasis on forensic serology.
Discuss the principles behind and interpretation
of conventional serology and DNA profiling results.
Discuss ways to safely handle biological evidence to avoid contamination
from infectious and hazardous materials.
Describe how to avoid cross contamination of biological evidence during the
collection and packaging process.
Hundreds of investigators have attended this program conducted by Dr. Ted Yeshion since 1980.
